Nyla Matuk is the author of two books of poetry: Sumptuary Laws (Véhicule Press, 2012), shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Award, and Stranger (Véhicule Press, 2016). She is also the editor of an anthology of poems, Resisting Canada (Véhicule Press, 2019). In 2018, Nyla served as the Mordecai Richler Writer in Residence at McGill University. Her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, POETRY, The Poetry Review, The Walrus, PN Review, and elsewhere. In 2023-2024, she is at work on a début novel manuscript, Leila and Khaled.
